Ongoing Research.

The goal of our work is to better understand why some young people engage in harmful or risky behavior and to identify ways to prevent these outcomes or intervene effectively. Our findings aim to support healthier developmental pathways and inform programs that promote well-being.

Team Hugging

Personality, Experiences, Communication, and Mental Health Study

This research study seeks to better understand how people’s past experiences, personality, and communication styles relate to their well-being. Participants will complete questionnaires and take part in video conversations reflecting on personal memories and weekly experiences. These insights will help researchers explore how life experiences and personality characteristics shape daily functioning and mental health.

Justice

Legal Implications of Developmental Immaturity (LIDI) Study

This study explores how youth make decisions in situations where important legal rights are involved. We’re especially interested in how psychosocial maturity—such as how youth think about risks, peers, and authority—might shape the choices they make in these situations. By learning more about these patterns, we hope to inform practices that better support fair and appropriate decision-making for people of all ages.
